RM Bridge Cast Help

Control lines tab

Used to view the control lines of the selected rivet.

You can select the rivet by pressing arrows in the upper-left corner of window. The actual control line can be selected in the list in the left part of window or you can select to see no control lines (Casting curve) - then the values which are shown in segment tab will be used. You will see its values in the lower right list (first row at each segment is the position (X, Y, Z) at the beginning of segment, the second row is at the end of segment). As a reference also the values for nodes in active casting set will be shown (in the lower left list). The radio button below indicate which values are displayed in lists.

SettingDescription
Bolt offset Set this option to display the rivets either with bolt offset or without it.
Relative to All values will be displayed relative to selected segment. Two graphs will display these values in graphical way - default for 1st are X and Y coordinates, default for 2nd are X and Z coordinates. It is possible to use free-hand symbols (zoom, move) in graphs and also to invoke view options dialog by right-click (or by pressing appropriate button). What is shown are basically comparisons between two possibilities as set by radio buttons and tabs in the lower part of screen. The tabs possibilities are:
  • Setup – Compares setup control lines values to setup segment values. This is with camber.
  • Survey – Compares as cast control lines values to as cast segment values. This is with camber.
  • Compare both – Compares setup control lines to as cast control lines (or setup segment values to as cast segment values). This is with added camber.
Scale difference The difference could be scaled (because it is usually very small), so that you can see the trends. The scale factor can be changed by edit box in the lower right part of screen (either by predefined number by clicking on arrow or by editing) - these scales are valid for both graphs. You can change which axes you see by clicking on appropriate buttons right to the graph (the axes can be x-y, z-y, x-z, and z-x). The remaining two buttons influence how the graph is drawn. Either the values of the first type are drawn into its axis and basically only difference is being shown. Or you can see the actual flow only with the difference magnified.
